Sustainable, zero waste, upcycled and one of a kind artwork designed by me as a part of my graduation diploma.
All textile pieces were designed ad hoc using post production cut offs from linen, silk, cotton and their blends. No new textiles were used in the process. Working on a film project in the workshop two summers ago, I gathered bags of scraps that I decided to use for my art. The aesthetics of this piece are inspired by traditions and techniques of perfect imperfect textiles in Far East Asia.
Depending on the light (day/ night), light source, light direction etc. the textiles have different shadowing and looks. From raw and organic look during the day without sun piercing them through (because then it changes), to warm shades of beige and brown with the installed LED lights turned on at night. Whole piece is also a heptical experience, when you can read with your fingers all stitches. right side is more flat, while the left is like a textile relief.
Creates a magical, cozy and romantic atmosphere in the interior. Quite big in size can serve as a partition wall, decoration, art piece and light fixture at the same time.
